Description Niels 2006-04-02 15:24:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I have two similar text files, without extensions. KDE recognizes one as a text file, the other as "unknown". That's apparently caused by moderately long lines in the second file.

This means, apart from the obvious problem of not being able to simply click to file to open it, that Kdevelop opens the file in a hex viewer...

File that isn't recognized properly.
Comment 2 Thiago Macieira 2006-04-05 09:07:57 UTC
I'm guessing the newline isn't found.
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-05-01 20:28:02 UTC
Does the first file contains non-ascii chars ?

Marking as NEEDSINFO
Comment 5 Niels 2009-06-04 19:02:11 UTC
The main problem is that the attached file isn't recognized correctly, even with 3.5.10. It contains the non-ascii string "æøå".
Comment 6 Dario Andres 2009-06-07 16:24:03 UTC
This was fixed on KDE4.3. Thanks
