Version: 0.7 (using KDE 3.5.1, Debian Package 4:3.5.1-2 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-1-686 I recently updated an old knoppix installation to debian-stable. It happened, that had already removed some programs, but the menu items were not removed. For example, I hade "Open Office 1.1" menu entries, but the program was already removed. Therefore, I propose that there should a "Clean menu" possibility, which would check that the programs which are present in the menu really exist in the computer. Such a check would then propose to "Remove menu items whose run command does not exist". Expected Behavior (new suggestion is marked with +): 1) move mouse pointer on the top of the kde-menu 2) click right button 3) select "Menu Editor" with the left mouse button 4) select File->New Item... 5) write the name of the menu entry: "Test" 6) select the menu item with left mouse button 7) write Command: /usr/bin/this_command_does_not_exist 8) select File->Save +9) select File->Mark idle items (this would color menu items which would result in "command not found", and also the menu folders which contain such menu items) 10) select "Test" which is now red 11) select Edit->Delete 12) select File->Save 13) select File->Quit This would be a great feature!
