Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: FreeBSD Ports OS: FreeBSD There is presently no simple method of saving images sent via e-mail if the image is sent in line and not attached. Many MUA's used under Windows have the ability to right click the image and then choose 'Save As' to save the image. I would like to see that functionality added to KMail.
Not only images but simple text copying is not convenient in Kmail. You must slect text and then go Edit>Copy. Right clicking and chooseing Copy would much more convenient.
If I understood your wish correctly, you should be able to save inline messages in the following way: Configure KMail->Appearance->Layout->Message Structure Viewer->Show only for non-plaintext messages or Show always. And then, you should be able to right click on any attachment/image in the structure viewer that appears under the message and select "save as...". As for comment 1, the right-click menu after selecting text has "copy" as an option for me. I am using KMail 1.9.1. Maybe you are using an older version of KMail?
Just for clarification: This feature is only missing for embedded images in HTML messages. Moreover, unless one uses View->Attachments->Hide the embedded images are again shown below the HTML message (which could be considered a bug) and those copies of the images can be saved via the right-click menu.
