Description Steve Purcell 2006-03-15 20:29:49 UTC
Version: 1.4-beta2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Scenario: A laptop user mounts large music collection via NFS while at home, and has a smaller 'roaming' collection on his laptop hard disk. He cannot enable automatic rescanning of folders while roaming, because his music at home will be forgotten by Amarok while roaming, and he cannot manually rescan folders for the same reason.

It would be wonderful if Amarok could detect the absence of the home music while the user is roaming, and not forget all about it.

Yes, I'm that user, and I'm not sure how easy such a change would be, but I'm very disappointed when I roam on business with Amarok and my iPod, because I inevitably lose most of my collection statistics...

Perhaps a very neat solution would be to allow per-folder settings for auto re-scanning.

(Thanks for the amazing work, especially the recent ipod improvements!)
