Version: Kontact 1.1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux PIM Developers: thanks for the most complete PIM tool for linux! It's been a great tool so far and meets most of my needs. Something that I think could use improvement is the TODO list. In calendar view you can have a TODO list under the small calendars, with the very convenient field for adding new tasks. Unfortunately there is no quick way to filter the list, so you are always looking at all your tasks. For people with over about 20 tasks, this gets to be a burden. While the Cateogry field helps to group tasks, there is no quick way to filter on Category. There is also no super-fast way to add a new task to a specific category. I propose a drop down box next to the "Click to add a new to-do" field to filter by category. Then when you create a new to-do item, it will inherit the category selected. This offers filtering and simplified creation of to-do items. This drop down box would basically list automatically generated filters, one for each known category. There could be a separator at the bottom followed by "Customize..." which would bring up a dialog that would allow users to turn off automatic category filters, display their custom filters, and/or create aggregate category filters: ie "Work" = "Project 1" + "Prooject 2" + "People Management". This request stems from reading David Allen's "Getting Things Done" which discusses (among many other things) using project specific todo lists. Kontact does a great job on most of his other organizational recomendations - especially being able to drag mail to the calendar or todo lists. Thanks for the great work

You can filter by category, and if you create a new to-do, it inherits the selected category.
