Description harty83 2006-02-28 23:52:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Every time I quit kontact/kmail, I get a crash message. This happens everytime. Kmail is connected to my localhost's kolab server. I'm running Kubuntu 5.10 with KDE 3.5.1. Here is the backtrace:

Comment 1 harty83 2006-03-01 02:34:13 UTC
I have kmail 1.9.1 and kontact 1.2. The crash will only occur if I have kmail open within kontact. If I have the two open separately, kontact will not crash upon being closed. Neither will kmail.

Confirm on KDE 3.5.2, Kontact 1.2 and Kmail 1.9.2.

Ubuntu 6.01 Dapper
Comment 5 A.Th.C. Hulst 2006-10-11 08:50:09 UTC
Sorry, it is kmail 1.9.1
Comment 6 A.Th.C. Hulst 2006-11-01 08:28:57 UTC
I have found that removing the IMAP account from Kmail and re-adding it solved the crashes.
Comment 7 lanzen 2007-01-17 11:57:22 UTC
Same crash. Removing IMAP accounts allows me to start Kmail by itself, but if I try kontact alone it crashes.
Kmail version is 1.9.5 on KDE 3.5.5 on kubuntu 6.10 (2.6.17-10-generic ...i686) on AMD 64 Dual Core 3800+

This crash is not happening on my laptop where I'm running Kubuntu (same kernel) on AMD 64 (single core) 3400+.

Comment 8 David Faure 2007-02-09 15:39:46 UTC
#2 shows why KABC::ResourceFile should NOT use NetAccess!
But I'm not sure this is related to the original bug report: is everyone here using a "remote file resource" for his addressbook?
Comment 9 Andre Woebbeking 2007-02-09 16:14:04 UTC
David, did you mean my comment? I don't use a "remote file resource".
Comment 10 David Faure 2007-02-10 01:58:11 UTC
Ah, sorry, KABC::ResourceFile::save is a local .ics file. Which makes the use of NetAccess even more useless...
Comment 11 Tobias Koenig 2007-02-12 15:57:33 UTC
Hi,

for this reason NetAccess isn't used any longer in 3.5.6 ;)

Ciao,
Tobias

Comment 13 Thomas McGuire 2007-06-09 15:08:31 UTC
Why was this bug closed as FIXED?
Which SVN commit fixed this problem?
The same problem still appears in KDE 3.5.7 in bug 146586.
