Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs KMail will not allow the user to select a remote file for a custom folder icon. However, I can't think of any good reason for this restriction. Other KDE applications, such as amaroK, allow the user to select remote files for album thumbnails. Why can't KMail just fetch the remote file, resize it, and store it in a local cache? Or is this perhaps a limitation of the icon selector component? If the latter, this bug should be moved to the appropriate application (kfile component of kio, perhaps?). To reproduce: 1. Right-click on a folder 2. Click on "Properties". Properties dialog pops up. 3. Check "Use customs icon" box. 4. Click on the "Normal" or "Unread" icon button. "Select Icon" dialog pops up. 5. Click the "Other icons" radio button. 6. Click "Browse…". Open dialog pops up. 7. In the "Location" input field, enter a remote URL, such as <http://bugs.kde.org/img/konqi.gif> 8. Click "Open". The following error dialog pops up: Remote Files Not Accepted - KMail [!] You can only select local files. [OK]
