Description Gerard Seibert 2006-02-11 19:22:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD

Spell checking in KMail is an all or nothing proposition. Either check the entire document, or do not check it at all. I believe that this behavior should be modified.

Many other MUA's, especially in the MS Windows world, allow spell checking on a selected (highlighted) portion of the text if the user wishes to restrict the checking to only a portion of the document. I would very much like to see this ability included into KMail's spell checking feature.

what do you need that for exactly?

if you don't like that it disables spellchecking if there are too many errors, then I suggest changing the decision scope to a paragraph (i.e. don't highlight paragraphs with too many errors)

There are other wishes open to exclude the signature from spell check.

[wontfix]

Closing as WONTFIX. Please try kmail2 and open a new wish against kmail2 if still applicable. Thanks.
