Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Compiler: gcc 4.0.x OS: Linux This is a minor bug. I have a single GPG key pair (0xDD6D12BD), with multiple email address UIDs; they are ((©) = @): - Remi.Denis-Courmont (©) via.ecp.fr - rdenis (©) simphalempin.com - remi.denis-courmont (©) centrale-paris.net - courmisch (©) via.ecp.fr - rem (©) videolan.org Within Kmail, I also have several identities, all set to use one and the same GPG key pair for signing; they are: - Remi.Denis-Courmont (©) via.ecp.fr - rdenis (©) simphalempin.com - remi.denis-courmont (©) student.ecp.fr - courmisch (©) via.ecp.fr - rem (©) videolan.org When I tell Kmail to use my key with an identity whose email address is not included in the key pair addresses (in this case, remi.denis-courmont(©)student.ecp.fr), it prints a warning, which is OK. That warning says that other users might have trouble with signed/encrypted email when the sender email does not match the signing key. Then, when I configure an identity whose email address is one of my key pair UIDs, it does not print said warning, if the email address specified is one of: - rdenis (©) simphalempin.com - courmisch (©) via.ecp.fr - rem (©) videolan.org But it strangely prints a warning when the email address is Remi.Denis-Courmont (©) via.ecp.fr, which is obviously wrong. I'd suspect a problem with uppercase, though I use exactly the same case in GnuPG and Kmail. Sincerely,
I recently fixed a bug (in trunk) regarding uppercase/lowercase checking of the e-mail address, I guess this is the same. I also had the exact same case and got the warning.
My upper-case key is revoked, so I am going to have to trust that this is resolved... Thanks.
