Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages I would like to see a way to filter certain file types/mime in Recent Documents under the KMenu for examples. Right now I see.... a site's cgi pages, a few other web scripts (seems to filter html but not odd extensions like cgi,vm) etc... It's not really useful now. Perhaps If I could select which applications use this? Personally I only want to see documents such as kword, kedit, kate. No music, web pages, images I have viewed, etc... things I can or have edited I guess.
Still valid for KDE 4: the recent documents in kickoff/lancelot are a muddled mess.
The recent documents in kickoff/lancelot here only show the last 8 (lancelot) or 9 (kickoff, incl. trash-address) "documents". A search filter wouldn't help much IMHO. It would be better to be able to choose which filetypes should be shown in that list (and how many). By now I have a lot of web addresses and folders in that list and no documents. I don't want any web addresses in there and I don't want any folder addresses in there (those are no documents IMHO), I only want files in it like OpenOffice.org documents, pictures I've edited with gimp, music files I have edited with audacity - nothing I have just viewed, only files that I have edited. Maybe it is possible to set that as an option: show only edited files? At least all web and folder addresses should vanish from that list.
2014: Still the recent documents are a mess and not really usable. It would help a lot if one could exclude certain filetypes like urls, html, etc,. E.g I only want to see what I call "documents", i.e. odt, ods, doc, txt - written texts. Maybe images I have edited with gimp - but they are not in the list anyways... at least I never found them there. The least to blend out would be "documents" that are not on my PC!
Still the same problem with KDE SC 4.13...
it would be "nice" to have the history customizable... kubuntu 14.04
Doesn't seem likely, sorry.
