Description Pau Capdevila 2006-02-03 17:30:01 UTC
Version: 1.2.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, Debian Package 4:3.5.1-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-1-k7

Some things (see youtube embedded videos, etc.) don't work well in konqueror and thus in akregator.

Sometimes I have to detach an akregator tab and then do location=>open with firefox.

Please consider adding a direct way to open externally with konqueror OR firefox.

Thanks

Javascript/Forms doesn't seem to work in akregator "Web-Tab". This is irritating.

You can select an external browser with Configure Akregator->Browser.
To use firefox, enter "firefox %u" there (which is the default now, but if you are a long time user, it might contain an obsolete command though).

To open a link in firefox, use middle click, to open the currently displayed page, use "Open Page in external browser" in the context menu of the browser window (RMB on the page itself, not tab).

Does this match your needs?

I dont think this enough. Konqi is my standard browser, so regulary open page in external browser is for konqi, I only use Firefox for page which do not work in konqi/ akregator itself.

Maybe using a "Open with..." menu entry in the context menu would be convenient?
The default entry therein would be the current "External browser" then.

I agree. Konqui is my main browser. I use Firefox for things that do not work and then I prefer to open them directly in Firefox. So a menu entry would be helpful. May be to keep it browser agnostic allow to configure 2 external browsers. May one as "system default browser" "other external browser".

Should we keep this open? I'd close with wontfix, as nowadays Konqui is well, less usable as a default browser anyway, so people usually have one fixed main browser, as Open in External Browser works fine in that case.

I think so. All links are opened with QDesktopServices using the default browser and since everything is based on Chromium or WebKit these days, there's no difference anyway :)
