Every time I start Kopete all other networks (AIM, Y!, MSN, 2xIRC, Jabber) connect fine within a few seconds, but the ICQ logo keeps blinking on and on. When I try to connect manually by choosing "Online" from the ICQ menu, the application crashes giving the following output to the crash manager:

However, after a few tries Kopete changes its behaviour and just displays a popup saying "no connection possible with [my ICQ number]". The ICQ logo stays grey, and after choosing "Online" from the menu I get connected to the network normally. Next time the behaviour mentioned above returns. The installed version of kdenetwork3-InstantMessenger is 3.5.0-9, I installed it from the inofficial KDE update repository on the SuSE servers. The previously installed version (3.5.0-?) never crashed, but also sometimes could not automatically connect to ICQ. Apart from another KDE bug (see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120421) the system is running fine. Using other messengers like Trillian Basic (on another system) or Gaim (on the same system) everything works flawless, so I guess it can't be any problem with the ICQ protocol in general or my contact list.
