(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kdesktop Version: 1.94 (kde2 beta5) I have a vertical panel (kicker) on the left edge of the screen. When the panel is hidden all the icons on the desktop shift to the left (by the size of the panel) and then shift back again when the panel is shown. It appears that kdesktop thinks the screen origin has changed sicne the same thing happens with kicker on the top of the screen (icons move up/down as you hide/show). I can see kdesktop getting a message about screen real estate when kicker appears (in case it actually changed position) but it should probably ignore the hide signal and not do anything. Needless to say it is pretty annoying - really bad with autohide - although it would go unnoticed by people who leave kicker on the bottom. -- Patrick Dowler Onfire Technologies VIctoria BC
