Version: 2.2.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 Let's say Juk is playing songs in the collection list. If it has already played a non-variable bit rate (VBR) MP3, and it comes across a VBR MP3, it will not play it. It will simply skip to the next song. However, if Juk is quit and relaunched, and the first song it plays is a VBR MP3, then it will only play VBR MP3s in the collection list. No plugins are loaded.
JuK doesn't handle the decoding directly, so moving this over to the decoding component.
Here is the error message I get in the terminal when I try to play a VBR MP3 after playing a non-VBR MP3: "juk: ERROR: Couldn't resolve the mime type of "" -- this shouldn't happen."
Sorry for bouncing this back and forth like this. But according to the reported error-message, it has something to do with the mimetype detection in JuK. JuK skips songs it cannot detect the mimetype of.
