Description Dieter Drewanz 2006-01-09 03:01:11 UTC
Version: Knoppix 4.02 DVD / Debian 3.1 based (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

KDE Konqueror KDE Release 3.4.1 (Knoppix live 4.02 - DVD based on Debian sage 3.1) jumps because of that mistake, back to icon view from detailed view. In the main toolbar the icons (icon view and detailed view) dissapear there mostly, too. So I have always to change back to view mode again. Especially when I jump back to media list and down to root directory. There occurs this mistake permanently.
I found this description at old bugs as closed, now the bug it is back again. For me it is very deranging.

In addition to the bug a wish - please add detailed view as default, or a selection field in menu settings configure konqueror behavior. That may be a solution till the bug is found, too.

This is nearly the same problem as reported in Bug 111356 and in Bug 86155, I guess. I have that problem with the media- and with the smb-kioslave, and it is really annoying. It did work before, I'm not sure, but I think it stopped to do so since KDE 3.3.

Maybe the developers use icon view all the time so they don't come along that one :-).

My default view of "file management" is set to "Detailed List View" and it works fine untill I select a "devices" and the any removable media (CD, DVD, USB Key etc) the damn "Icon View" is activated and my whole system slows down to a crawl.
