Description Szokovacs Robert 2006-01-05 11:57:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Sometimes kmail doesn't render the message, instead it shows the source of the message (see attachments). Usually it happens with a high traffic folder, probably (I couldn't willfully reproduce it) when new messages arrive, while I delete one message (and kmail automatically tries to display the next one).
I set severity to crash, because sometimes under same circumstances, not even the source shown, instead kmail starts to eat 100% cpu until I kill it.

As of kde-3.5.5, kmail-1.9.5, the bug is still there. Kmail handling of imap didn't improve the least bit in the last two years. The UI still gets confused when the open folder's contents gets updated. I can't belive I'm the only one using imap with kmail.

1.9.9 still has it

What you see is a mail with the View->headers changed to "View all headers", but I don't know why it changes randomly.

No, actually I didn't pick a good letter to show in the attachment, because it's not quoted-printable. If it was (I will post a new screenshot if it's necessary), it would show the encoded characters as well.
1.12.1 with kde 4.3.1 on ubuntu, I still can see the bug.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
