Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

It's a fresh install of Kubuntu in italian language. I formatted the hard disk and installed frin scratch. 

I can't even see the splash screen. Before the crash I see an alert box saying:

File I/O Error - Kontact (this is in the title bar)

Error while reading file:

/usr/share/apps/kontact/about/main.html

This is what I get with an ls -lah in the about dir:

I also tried to reinstall the package kontact, but the problem still remains. 

The few times kontact loads it shows some errors on all the applications. For example, in  "Note", it says:

Cannot load part for Sincronizzazione.
Library files fo "libmultisynkpart.la not found in paths.

For each applications, it says it can't find a file, except for the "Summary"

If I start Kmail or Kaddressbook, as standalone applications, they works with no problems.
