Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) OS: Linux In the advanced permissons dialog there exist a column showing the effective rights. Maybe it might be more elegant to do the following: Taking off this column and using green "ok"-symbols (as actually used) for effective permissions and using grey (or even red) "ok"-symbols for permissions who aren't effective. Maybe th relationship between the mask entry and the entries "named user", "group" and "named group" would be clearer when the entries affected by the mask are located a little bit more at the right then the other entries (owner, mask, others).
>> Maybe th relationship between the mask entry >> and the entries "named user", "group" and >> "named group" would be clearer when the entries >> affected by the mask are located a little bit >> more at the right then the other entries (owner, >> mask, others). Or the symbol used for the mask entry is used addititionaly to the "normel" symbol of these entries. I'll attach a picture to show what I mean...

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.
Not sure this is necessary, and anyway the color of the icons is dependent on the icon theme.
