Version: 0.12.10 (using KDE 3.5.0, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.0-0ubuntu3 dapper) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-9-k7 Hi K3b currently supports ogg vorbis and mp3 files, but it doesn't support AAC files. So to burn an audio CD using AAC files, it's necessary to convert every files to wav using faad for instance. Is it possible to add this feature in K3B ? Thanks

Oops, dup already closed
Is AAC supported by ffmpeg? If so it's a kubuntu specific issue (k3b isn't built against ffmpeg in kubuntu because it isn't in main).
Yes, ffmpeg support AAC... Since ffmpeg seems to be in dapper yet, will it be fixed for dapper ?
AAC and also MP4 can be decoded with faad, no need for ffmpeg. Also, ffmpeg uses faad to decode AAC/MP4 On my system k3b complains about an unsupported format (mp4). Please add faad support to k3b. Cheers
do you have the k3b ffmpeg decoder plugin?
no, but i suggest to write a faad plugin standalone since ffmpeg stuff can't be included in many distros for license purposes
Wouldn't it make more sense to add AAC/MPEG4 support to audiocd:/ kio-slave first?
what has the audiocd:/ ioslave to do with k3b? Nothing, that's what. ;) aac encoding in K3b would ba a good idea though. anyone up for writing a plugin?
use my mp4tools: http://blueangel.us/mp4tools/
Still no support for iTunes AAC files in K3b 19.12.1. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1
It's ridiculous that after so long, aac/m4a files are not supported, what a tragedy. It's the best burner on linux imo, and one of the few supporting CD-Text. I wish they would add support but, at the very least, have a clearer error when attempting to use aac files, so I don't have to run around troubleshooting something that doesn't work. Something more helpful than ''unknown error' would be the bare minimum.
