Description Luk van den Borne 2005-12-21 23:44:43 UTC
Version: 2.5.0 (using KDE 3.5.0, Arch Linux)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-ARCH

In Kate, if I'm using the sidebar to browse a remote source and I delete a file from that remote source with for example konq, the file won't disappear from the sidebar. When I click on the file, I get an error message of course.

Some form of autodetection of deleted files (locally it works just fine) would be very much appreciated. A refresh button would also suffice, but it goes without saying that I prefer the former solution.

We are using the standard KDirOperator module. Does the file dissapear if you update the browser view (you can add a reload button to the filesystem browser toolbar in the configuration dialog).

Hmm, yes it does disappear. But imho it should detected automatically if a file has been removed, just as it is done as on local file systems. Also, having two different refresh buttons is highly counterintuitive.

Is this still the case in the latest stable version of KDE (v4.10 or higher) ?
