Description Michał Kosmulski 2005-12-18 15:04:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

After I upgraded to KDE 3.5.0 from 3.4.2, Kopete does strange things with my Jabber account. My manually saved session which is loaded at KDE startup includes a Kopete window. Now, after I log in to KDE, the Jabber lightbulb stays in blinking state for arbitrarily long time, without establishing a connection. However, if I change the state manually to Offline and then to Online, I am logged in and the Jabber account is usable within a second or so. My other plugin, the Gadu-Gadu one doesn't show this behavior and correctly starts up after Kopete is loded by the session manager.

what say the console output ?
Comment 2 Michał Kosmulski 2005-12-27 19:31:10 UTC
It seems the problem only occurs the forst time kopete is loaded (during session startup). If I exit kopete and then start it again, the connection is established right away. Maybe it's some kind of incompatibility between sessions saved in KDE 3.4 and 3.5 (this session was saved before the upgrade). I'll try to save the session once again and check what happens. Below is the output from kopete when it is started for the second time (and connects to the jabber server successfully).
