Description Christian González 2005-12-13 09:54:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I think it would be nice if there was an "Administrator mode" button in the storage media kcmshell, because as normal user you can't change the system wide entries.

You can add some features for yourself, but if I for example don't like the "play VCD with kaffeine" entry - I can only delete it using "su && kcmshell media".
That's ok but it would be cleaner integrating it into the GUI.

And, it's a quite small wish. And soon we have christmas. ;-)

regards,
Chris

This bug/mimssing feature is still there in KDE 4.7.4, now in Systemsettings -> "Device actions" (I think it is called this way in English).

You can still add features, but not delete any.
Maybe this is intended, then please mark this bug as WONTFIX.
It's 6 years old now ;-)

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
