Bug 104277 is not about articles, but about the feed list (on the left). What you mean is 116638, there is an option in Configure Akregator->Advanced for that.
You are right - it's just the Polish translation makes it difficult to spot - it says something like this (translated back from Polish to English) : "set the search bar to the default state at rss channel change" so i didn't imagine it was about it
i'd like to chang the report status to BUG because on program restart it remembers the state of select button which i set to "show onyl unread" but it still shows all topics (on startup) when i change it to something else adn then turn it back to "unread" it works ok
it dosn't work at all in suse 10 kde 3.5.2 - translation still wrong

In kde4 akregator this option is missing - should this report be reopened?

In comment #2 you mention the config option "set the search bar to the default state at rss channel change" which is definitely about the search bar while in comment #3 you mention the status filter combo. Do you want Akregator not to remember the status filter selection for next program starting (which is working for me in KDE 4.2.1 and as for me it's a very useful option), or you want it but it doesn't work correctly for you?
Id didn't work corectly for me now it does. in 4.2.1
