Description Niklas 2005-12-02 00:16:47 UTC
Version: 0.7 (using KDE 3.4.3, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.3-0ubuntu1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-10-386

I have been using Kubuntu 5.10 for nearly two months now and I am really impressed. I greatly appreciate all the work that has been done to create something as fantastic as KDE.

However, here is my bug which makes me a bit nervous:

I don't know how to replicate this bug. Here is what happens: I have been installing quite a number of applications lately, sometimes manually adding a menu entry. From time to time I see a discrepancy between the K Menu and the contents displayed in the menu editor.

E.g. I have an "Editors" subdirectory (with kedit, vi, kate, ...) which I somehow cannot get rid of. If I delete this subdirectory in the menu editor the entry of course disappears in the menu editor. If I then save my changes and exit from the menu editor, the "Editors" subdirectory is still in the K menu. If I then open the menu editor, the "Editors" subdirectory is again in the menu editor. Thus, I cannot delete the entry.

Also, from time to time I notice that new entries have been made in the K menu, namely copies of existing entries (this happened with NVU and Nerolinux).

Thank you
N.
