KMail could include a "Speak Text" option like the one found in Konqueror's "Tools" menu to connect directly with KTTSMgr.  (Or on a toolbar like Akregator, or a context menu like KPDF.)

Currently, text has to be first copied to the clipboard, and then "Speak Clipboard Contents" selected from KTTSMgr, in order to have e-mails spoken.  If there is a better approach already available, it is not very intuitive and has evaded my searches for it.
