Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 10.0) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15-default Right click on a URL in an Email, no longer copys to clipboard alowing a paste into an existing text file. A window open asking for a file name to copy to !
Right-clicking on an URL shows a context menu. One of the four entries is "Copy Link". If you select it, it copies to the clipboard. Works fine here, KDE 3.5 r477777.
Please don't reply by email. Use the web interface. Pasting the contents of the email: > Now try to place the contents into an existing text file ?? > > A window opens asking for a name to save contents to. Ok, steps I took: 1) right-click an URL in an email in KMail 2) select Copy Link 3) opened kwrite 4) middle-clicked The URL was pasted correctly.
I Don't have a three button mouse. However opening Kwrite first makes no difference. I still get a request for a file name to save to. I can re copy from the file I save to and then paste into an existing txt file. In SuSE 9.0 This worked properly.
Just a further comment. Trying to copy and paste the pasword from the signup fails as well. However it copies the user email ok.
Just a note on the copy paste of password. Are there certain characters that are ignored ?
I did not understand the question.
Question 5, refered to my comment in No:4
No, there's no restriction on what gets copied
In that case my comment in No:4 stands. Copy and paste from an Email works for the login, but not for the password on the bug report page !!
I notice that the STATUS is marked resolved !! This does not resolve the problem for me !! As far as I can see saying that it works for you is not a solution to the problem that I suffer from.
Right. I had closed when your problem seemed simpler.
As far as I understand this issue, it's saying the password from within an URL is not copied when I select "Copy Link Address" from with kmail. I tested this with KDE 4.3 and it works.
