Description Brett Kropf 2005-11-26 08:52:17 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from:    FreeBSD Ports
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 [FreeBSD] 20050518
OS:                FreeBSD

The original Quote indicator was:
 >%_
After changing it to just '>' (and Apply'd), and now trying to set it back to '>%_', indent-prefix remains '>'. It seems that I can change it to anything but the original '>%_'. Here are some saved examples from ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc:
  indent-prefix=>       [>]
  indent-prefix=%_      [ ]
  indent-prefix=>%_%_   [>  ]
  indent-prefix=%_>     [ >]
  indent-prefix=%_>%_   [ > ]
  indent-prefix=$_>     [$_>]
  indent-prefix=#%_     [# ]
(And they all function correctly and produce what I've displayed within the brackets into the Compose window.)
But I can not get KMail Configure to store:
  indent-prefix=>%_     [> ]
Instead, it remains the previously set Quote indicator.

(Of course, I can set it to '>%_' by manually editing kmailrc.)

Correction: KMail 1.8.2 (Using KDE 3.4.2) on FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE i386
Comment 2 Nicolas Chevreux 2006-02-17 18:09:24 UTC
Confirmed on Kontact 1.2 using KDE 3.5.1 on Kubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10.

I set the Quote Indicator to something else than the default, and can not change it back, even by pressing on "Default".

This seems to have been reported here already:

The same thing applies as well for the colors in Configure -> Appearance -> Colors. If the user changes the color, then revert to the system color (but unchecking "Use custom colors", the colors are not changed in ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc
Comment 4 Martin Koller 2009-08-30 15:18:58 UTC
works in KDE 4.3
