Description Sebastian Sariego B 2005-11-24 16:56:27 UTC
Version: 0.11 KDE 3.5RC1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8)

OS: Linux

When a contact send to me an image (jpg, JPG) the image downloads fine, but corrupt i think:

segfault@excalibur ~/wallpapers $ file wall_misc2.jpg
wall_misc2.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.02

That show a good image, but lets look the image that i'd received from my msn contact.

segfault@excalibur ~ $ file texto.jpg
texto.jpg: data

and obviously i cant see the picture.

btw. sorry my english if someone can correct me, please do it

Files received through the MSN protocol are actually empty here.

 $ file number2mail.jpg
number2mail.jpg: empty

It's not much easier to see them of course ;)
Works also with other kind of files than just pictures. I had the same problem with .mid, .doc, .pdf, etc.

Running Kubuntu 6.04 Dapper (development), using KDE 3.5.0.

The file-empty problem is another issue and is known. IIRC, it has to do with the other party using MSN 7.5.

The issue reported here isn't confirmed.
