Version: 0.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When I start playing a movie with KMPlayer mplayer engine the seekbar disappears. Switching to xine engine and back makes seekbar appear again. I don't have this with MPlayer or KPlayer. Is anybody having the same problem ? (I'm using debian-marillat sid packages (kmplayer-0.9.1 and mplayer-1.0-pre7..)) I found 2 differences in KMPlayer console: 1. - seekbar ok: You will not be able to use your remote control. Playing /home/jakub/movie.avi. ID_VOBSUB_ID=5 ID_VSID_5_LANG=en fopen Vobsub file failed: No such file or directory AVI file format detected. ID_VIDEO_ID=0 ID_AUDIO_ID=1 VIDEO: [XVID] 608x256 12bpp 25.000 fps 1023.2 kbps (124.9 kbyte/s) 1. - seekbar missing: You will not be able to use your remote control. ID_VOBSUB_ID=5 ID_VSID_5_LANG=en fopen Vobsub file failed: No such file or directory AVI file format detected. ID_VIDEO_ID=0 ID_AUDIO_ID=1 No accelerated IMDCT transform found Using MMX optimized resampler VIDEO: [XVID] 608x256 12bpp 25.000 fps 1023.2 kbps (124.9 kbyte/s) 2. - seekbar ok: ID_FILENAME=/home/jakub/movie.avi ID_DEMUXER=avi ID_VIDEO_FORMAT=XVID ID_VIDEO_BITRATE=1023184 ID_VIDEO_FPS=25.000 ID_AUDIO_CODEC=a52 ID_AUDIO_FORMAT=8192 ID_AUDIO_BITRATE=384000 ID_AUDIO_RATE=48000 ID_AUDIO_NCH=2 ID_LENGTH=4140.84 No accelerated IMDCT transform found Using MMX optimized resampler 3 errors in postprocess string "hb:ac/vb:ac/dr:ac/al:f/tn" 2. seekbar missing: ID_FILENAME=/home/jakub/movie.avi ID_DEMUXER=avi ID_VIDEO_FORMAT=XVID ID_VIDEO_BITRATE=1023184 ID_VIDEO_FPS=25.000 ID_AUDIO_CODEC=a52 ID_AUDIO_FORMAT=8192 ID_AUDIO_BITRATE=384000 ID_AUDIO_RATE=48000 ID_AUDIO_NCH=2 3 errors in postprocess string "hb:ac/vb:ac/dr:ac/al:f/tn" So it seems KMPlayer is not showing seekbar because it didn't get "ID_LENGTH". But where's the problem ?
Yes, when no length is found then there is no progress slider. If you've found out why and how others can find the length value, then please drop a note ..
