Description glaurent 2005-11-23 15:04:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 4.0.1
OS: Linux

When receiving a file from an MSN user, the resulting file is generally empty even though the transfert went without problems. Looking at the size of the saved file during the transfer, it seems to flucuate between 0 and 12kb (quoted from memory), going back and forth (you actually see it growing, then shrinking back, then growing again)

I also have this annoying bug :-(

I have the same problem as described above. The tranfer went without problems and when i'm going to check the file it has 0KB. :(

Same problem here, files seem to transfer fine but the target file stays at 0.
Very annoying.

I also see this - I did have Kopete compiled from source, but now I have the 3.5 version that comes with Gentoo.

This is only when the remote user is using MSN Messenger 7.5. With 7.0 it's working fine. I recently tested with both and capture packet with Ethereal. Packets looks kinda the same. It will be hard to track the bug, and I know nothing about MSN P2P protocol :\

Happens to me on ArchLinux as well, using Arch's binary package

I also have this problem. I would think the problem lies in the handshaking to end the file transfer not happening properly with MSN 7.5 because the files send just fine until they finish. Very unfortunate that MSN can't just play by the rules.
