Description Mark Frazer 2005-11-22 15:53:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

I would like to use xinerama in a non-xinerama mode.

Here is the setup:
  - screens must be the same size
  - one panel per screen
  - each virtual desktop is the size of a single screen
  - each screen can display any virtual desktop

What else would be nice?
  - drag apps from one virtual desktop to another (stick at border and "pop" through)
  - be able to show the same virtual desktop on both screens at the same time for
    doing demos

So, I really don't care if xinerama is turned on or off for this, as I don't need
any application to be able to see all the screens. I do want the panels on each
screen to have the same set of virtual desktops though.

In a way, this is similar to bug 61606, but he explicitly wants non-xinerama.

Is there a bounty system for kde?

It's not possible with xinerama to show something cloned on all monitors.
