Description meyerm 2005-11-20 15:37:51 UTC
Version: 2.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-gentoo

It would be really nice if a subversion plugin existed for kate so that I can commit with a simply keystroke to a svn+file:// (and dav/svn/ssh...) repository.

If you install kdesvn, you can easily add external tools to use that with
kate. You can use the tools for cervisia as models.

Thank you for proposing that. But then kate won't be able to show me the status within the documents tab, right? So I would still like to have a really integrated SVN plugin :-)

But your suggestion sound quite nice so I will have a look at the CVS examples and try to create a SVN part until the plugin is ready ;-). Thanks!

The external tools only shows up in the tools menu. They operate only based on
information from the current document.

Have you tried the SVN KIO slave? (It is in the kdesdk module.)

Have a nice day!

Won't happen if nobody steps up and provides a patch who wants that.
kate-editor.org tells how to write up stuff for Kate, please do so, else this is closed.
