Version: 0.8.0-beta2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Slackware Packages when, a user has photos in *diferent* folders digikam copies the photos for the main folder: this is quite bad/anoying specially if the user has issues with diskspace, or changes/deletes the photo with amarok (and the change isnt reflected by digikam). Suggestion: digikam, could just organize the photos without having to copy them and have its own internal organized indepedent of physical folders , just like amarok organizes mp3 without having to copy them to its own folder, it just keeps track of the computer folders we specify have mp3, but has its own organization. the tags only show the photos associated with the tag in each folder (which makes sense). however when the user is in a *main* folder, none of the photos associated with the tag *located in the subfolders* showup. Example: i have a photo album called "Vacations" and in it i have two subfolders called "Mexico" and "Hawai", some photos in both photos have the tag "beach" associated with it. my sugestion is that, when i click in the "Vacations" folder and select the "beach" tag, both photos of "Mexico" and "Hawai" folders that have this tag associated show up. my third suggestion would be that the search be in the top, always visible. similar to (again) amarok, juk, etc...

Has the original bug reporter or anyone else actually split this into three different bug reports? Because I agree with at least his first and third suggestions. If anyone hasn't done the splitting, I could do it myself, let me know. If someone *has* done it, please comment this bug report with links to the new ones.

There is no reason to take Joerns advice as a personal offense. Digkam project has about 200 bug reports open, so all the things he pointed out are VALID. Bug tracking can not be done like this and the devels spend to much time cleaning bug reports anyway. So if you realy want to help or get your wishes in, please correct your report as adviced. In the end of cause it is your choise which apps you use and which not. Don't get me wrong, "miscommunication" can happen (and happen to me often, too). But if the devs ask you to correct/improve certain thinks, pls. try to do so. And take into account that most of us are NOT native English speakers, so thinks _might_ sound rude sometimes without the intention of the author.
