Version:           0.7.4 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 10.0)
Compiler:          Target: i586-suse-linux
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15-athlon-preempt

It would be very nice if Digikam could automatically handle raw image formats from Nikon and other cameras.  There is a free open-source tool called dcraw that understands these file formats.

DCRAW source code from web site

I attached a  copy of dcraw if it's any help.  I'd work on integrating it
myself, but am not familiar with the digikam code base and wouldn't know where
to start.

Come on, have you done a simple bug search about digikam, dcraw, raw files?
