Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: SuSE 10.0 (new install) OS: Linux Adding an Exchange 2000 server resource in KOrganizer causes the events to be displayed. However, the reminder popup does not work for events added in the Exchange 2000 resource. The reminder functionality does work for local calendars.
I did an experiment to try and narrow down the possible cause. I execute the follwing steps. 1)Enabled Exchange plugin. 2)Since the reminder functionality was working for local calendar, I downloaded my calendar from the Exchange 2000 server using the Exchange plugin into the standard resource file std.ics at ~/.kde/share/apps/kroganizer/std.ics 3)Saved the default resource 4)Restarted the korgac daemon and I fully expected a reminder. However, I did not get one. 5)Saved the existing std.ics 6)Starting with a clean std.ics, I locally added an event and restarted the korgac daemon. 6)The reminder popped up at the expected time. I compared the working and non-working std.ics files and I found out that the ACTION field of the VALARM block of the test event is empty in the downloaded std.ics whereas it is set to DISPLAY for the locally configured alarm. Please find below the 2 VALARM blocks. Working BEGIN:VALARM DESCRIPTION: ACTION:DISPLAY TRIGGER;VALUE=DURATION:-PT10M END:VALARM Not working BEGIN:VALARM ACTION: TRIGGER;VALUE=DURATION:-PT15M END:VALARM I think the possible reasons that reminders are not working for remote calendars are 1)The ACTION field for the VALARM block of an event is not set to DISPLAY and/or 2)The korgac daemon just ignores the remote calnedar.
Hi, I can confirm the bug is present on the KDE 3.5.1,Kontact 1.2 with the exchange-resource named "exchange resource". I know there is another resource called "Calendar on an Exchange server", but I have not tested that one. We are running on an Exchange 2000 server and we will probably be upgrading to 2003 in Q2 2006. We are using SuSE 9.3 and Suse 10.0 Please contact me if I can assist in debugging! This is one of the issues that will put weight behind throwing linux out of our desktop if we can not solve this. The Exchange calendar function is very important for a lot of users. Regards Birger
I can also confirm that behaviour with KDE 3.5.2
Unfortunately, we stopped supporting Exchange, due to lack of manpower to maintain it. It's unlikely these bugs will be fixed until someone steps up who *really* wants to make it work right. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
