Description Jerôme Pouiller 2005-10-24 19:29:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I have seen in some other bug reports many wishes to have more independance between monitors when using multihead with xinerama (exemple #42778, independant background). I wish go farer in this way.

Why not display an independant virtual desktop on each monitor?

For exemple, i have 4 virtual desktops (VD1, VD2, VD3 and VD4).
 - The first monitor display VD1 and the second monitor VD2
 - I could now change the virtual desktop displayed by the first monitor. I put VD3 on the first monitor. The second monitor continue to display VD2.
 - I could change the virtual desktop displayed by the second monitor. It could display the VD1.
 - etc...

I think, it's hard to implement, but for a next version, it can be a powerful thing.
