Description Bruno 2005-10-22 14:55:46 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.92)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When looking at a folder (IMAP), if new mail arrives the complete list is displayed as "white space" with [+] symbols of thread trees as visible and parts of tree lines appear without being cleared.
Scrolling, covering/uncovering does not correct the issue.

Only way to solve this display issue is to switch to another folder and back.
Left, Right keys to go to prefious/next message do not work either while the list is broken.
=> Seems that KMails list gets corrupted be new mail and must be recreated by reloading folder contents.

Mail checks returning no new messages do have no influence.

Expected behavior:
- New mail should show up without disturbing the list (just insert at right place as it was in KDE-3.4.*)

I don't have this problem on receiving new emails, but I have a very similar problem, which I think is the same bug: I have set up a filter that copies some of the mails I send, to my inbox. When I look at the inbox while sending a mail, the copy arrives in my inbox instantly, but is white space as described in the report. All other mails in the inbox message list are displayed correctly, until I try navigating to a different message. Then the complete list becomes white space. This was working in KMail 1.8.?, KDE 3.4 (SUSE 10.0).

KMail 1.9
KDE 3.5.0 level "a"
Unsupported SUSE 10.0 RPMs

Update to my comment #1:
The only way to get the correct display back, is to switch to another folder and back. (As in the original report.)
