Description Matt T. Proud 2005-10-14 07:06:04 UTC
Version: 1.3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

I have noticed when amaroK plays my FLAC files that sometimes it takes a while for the player to start playing the immediately subsequent track on the playlist. My machine's performance is by no means modest and, in fact, quite state-of-the-art, so I am not inclined to believe that it is its fault.

In any case, it might help playback seem more smooth if amaroK were to precache the beginning five or ten seconds of the immediately subsequent songs on the playlist so that they could be ready to play in memory before amaroK tries to perform any heavy lifting of reading and decoding the entire file.
