Description Marshalleq 2005-10-11 06:13:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: GCC 4.0.2 20050901 pre release
OS: Linux

I am not sure this if this is a bug or should be a feature request. I have a large collection of around 100GB of MP3's on an external USB HDD formatted with REISER. I am using Suse 10 Retail and Amarok 1.3.2. However this problem has existed on every build of Amarok I have had. Basically if I run amarok without the HDD plugged in and then plug in the Hard Disk Amarok does not detect the songs in it's database. I have been doing a rebuild database which takes a long time and hadn't thought until now to see what would happen if I shut down Amarok again then plug in the disk then rerun amarok. I will try that shortly but as a feature request it would be nice if it would autodetect the new disks and scan them etc. I believe an autodetection of CD Drives has recently been added into K3B which may give you some code to help this out with this if you like.
