Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 9.3 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-20a-default when I open an encrypted (with password) zip-file (made with zip -e for example) in the konqueror-embedded-view, konqueror crashes/hangs. it is even worse: i closed konqueror, opened a new konqueror-instance, dragged the zip-file into kmail (without reading the content of the zip-file), then kmail crashed/hanged. I fixed the "hang" of kmail by killing the process "kio_exec" with the longest running time. perhaps it belongs not to this bug, but: "ark" cannot read encrypted files, too.
Ark got support for encrypted zips after 3.4 was released. Can you test KDE 3.5 beta 1?
I use Ark-2.5.2. It shows the files included, but cannot open them: Archive: XXX Length Method Size Ratio Date Time CRC-32 Name -------- ------ ------- ----- ---- ---- ------ ---- 19051 Defl:N 4967 74% 10-06-05 20:37 c56fd409 xxxxx 6574 Defl:N 2403 63% 10-06-05 20:51 eebaeb5e xxxxxxx -------- ------- --- ------- 25625 7370 71% 2 files Archive: XXX skipping: xxxxx unable to get password I will not test KDE-3.5 beta, I will wait for official release. Why is the bug now related only to ark? The bug crashed konqueror. Or is the embedded view in konqueror from an ark-component? About the konqueror-crash/hang: konqueror also displays the files in the zip-archive, but starts to hang, if I try to open them.
The embedded viewer is actually Ark inside Konqueror. Hence why I ressigned the bug.
