Description Tung NGUYEN 2005-10-05 21:46:04 UTC
Version: 0.8.0-beta2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

- Launch DigiKam for the first time (no ~/.kde/share/apps/digikam and no ~/.kde/share/config/digikamrc).
- Enter a valid "Albums Library Folder" in the "Albums Library Path" dialog box and press OK.

=> I have this GUI message: "Cannot restart DigiKam automatically. Please restart DigiKam manually.". In Konsole, I have this message: "digikam: ERROR: Can not find service «digikam».".

Ah, _THE_ strange problem. I don't know why after a fresh install and at the first digiKam start sometimes we have this message. Perhaps it's a problem with .desktop file or with kde services registration during installation.

Anybody can guide me to any investigation about ?

Thanks in advance

Gilles,

In the last package made by Mandriva for Digikam 0.8.0-beta2, the first Launch of DigiKam (no ~/.kde/share/apps/digikam and no ~/.kde/share/config/digikamrc) is correct and does not display the message "Cannot restart DigiKam automatically. Please restart DigiKam manually.".

Don't hesitate to ask me if you want additionnal informations.

ok this is want me mean that kde registry is modified by a script from RPM. This is not done when you install digiKam from source tarball.
