Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Fedora RPMs When replying to e-mail, it is good practise to indicate when you have cut some of the mail by replacing it with: > (snip) It would be good if in the composer window KMail had a right-click menu option when text beginning with ">" is been selected. The option would be something like "Snip" i.e. you select a few lines > blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah > blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah > blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah You right-click, and get a menu: +------------+ + Undo + + Redo + +------------+ + Cut + + Snip + + (etc.) + +------------+ Choosing "Snip" replaces the lines with: > (snip) Easy, non-intrusive (because it only appears when relevant), and useful!
I like this idea. Not sure if we want to clutter the context menu, but we might put it on the Window menu.. dunno. In any event, this feature will have to wait until KDE 4 since we are not permitted to add any brand new things into KDE 3.
KMail has had snippet support for a long time now in the KDE 4 series.
In a compose windows, View->Snippets. You should see a snippets area. Then RMB menu in the snippets area should help you get started.
