Konqueror is behaving correctly. Unfortunately, it's a victim of its own attempt at being better: we parse and accept the ILAYER/LAYER tags as well as the DIV one below. That means the top menu has a height of way more than 60px (even though the TABLE has height="55", its contents are larger), which is the space the outer frame allocates for it.

Sorry, site bug, AFAICT.
Comment 2 Maksim Orlovich 2005-09-21 04:20:17 UTC
Well, trying to handle LAYER is asking for trouble, though.

Hope this description is more useful
Comment 5 Allan Sandfeld 2007-09-25 15:13:49 UTC
The original bug-description seems correct, but there is not LAYER tags in the site (anymore?).
Comment 6 Ferdinand Gassauer 2007-09-25 15:32:55 UTC
the second link does not exist any more, but the first one is still "not nice"
(KDE 3.5.7)
Comment 7 James Spahlinger 2008-04-19 00:21:14 UTC
Firefox 3 beta 5 does the same thing as described here. Opera 9.26 also shows a vertical scrollbar, but not a horizontal bar. However it appears opera hides the horizontal bar after the mouse enters the "box".

I'm looking at this bug trying to work with the bugday folks, and I'll do a proper test with konqueror as soon as kde 4.0.3 compiles. However this looks like a problem with the site rather then with the browser.
Comment 8 James Spahlinger 2008-04-19 00:24:31 UTC
Errm, oops. I misspoke as far as opera, it hides the *vertical* scrollbar on mouseover. Opera does not show a horizontal bar at all.
Comment 9 Ferdinand Gassauer 2008-04-19 08:28:38 UTC
firefox 2.0.0.13 on linux displays correct
Comment 10 James Spahlinger 2008-04-19 13:04:39 UTC
Ok, as promised, I tested konqueror. There is no scrollbox on load. But if I zoom the page, the scrollbox appears. So, if hiding the bars is desirable behavior konqueror actually does better then the other browsers at handling this :D

Using Gentoo Linux ~x86 (testing in gentoo lingo). KDE 4.0.3 and the majority of packages compiled using gcc 4.3.0.

There hasn't been any activity on this report for some time. Please check if the issue is still valid for Konqueror 4.8.4 or later. Thank you.
