Version:           3.4 (using KDE 3.4.0, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.4.3 (Mandrakelinux 10.2 3.4.3-7mdk)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-6mdk

After creating index file in KDE 3.4.0 error appears:

INDEXDIR: /home/marcin/Desktop
FINDCMD: find /usr/share/doc/HTML/en/ -name index.docbook
creating index for 'kde_application_manuals
htdig failed

David Walker had the same bug on slackware, KDE 3.4.2:

 htdig failed 
 
 I found reports of the index building bug but no fix. I need to make KWord 
 docs with a table of contents that I can print as a .pdf.

Had exactly the same problem with FreeBSD 6.1 using KDE 3.5.1 for Konqueror and Kwrite
