Version: 3.4.90 (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux Kicker's desktop pager applet apparently supports displaying virtual desktop backgrounds. When I use KControl to change the desktop background for all desktops, the desktop pager applet only updates the background preview for the first virtual desktop and occasionally for the second virtual desktop, even though I have four virtual desktops. If I change virtual desktops to one that has not yet been updated, the pager applet updates its preview background to match what is there. The reason that this behavior qualifies as a bug is that it occurs inconsistently and makes the desktop software appear unprofessional. Steps: 1.) install the desktop pager applet into Kicker; 2.) create four virtual desktops, ensuring that all use the same background; 3.) set the pager applet's background to be the desktop background; and 4.) change the desktop background using KControl to something other than what it presently is, ensuring that KControl sets the said background to be the one for all desktops. At this point, only a few previews should have updated.
yes, kdesktop doesn't send the appropriate signals out when the settings change. it tries to save resources by only rendering the backgrounds when really needed (which is smart from its perspective) but this makes it impossible to accurately get the background shown in pagers. kpager has the same problem, btw. it's a bug, but a pretty minor one, to be honest.
I will keep this brief to keep the spam level to be a minimum: Aaron, I am only trying to do QA's job here by providing bug coverage, so do not get annoyed with me for reporting seemingly trivial things.
oh, i'm not annoyed. just noting that it's a relatively minor bug. and to make this comment worth something, i'll confirm this bug ;)
