Description Daniel Moyne 2005-09-08 19:19:28 UTC
Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE 3.4.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.2-0ubuntu0hoary2 )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-5-k7

In some cases when answering a message just a section on incoming text in inserted in the edited message automatically prepared before edition ; abandoning edition by closing the message and trying again to re-edit the answer will eventually succeed in keeping the whole incoming message in the answer !

Of course selecting a section of the incoming message before editing the answer will properly result in editing this only section of text in the answer !

Hope I am clear in description of bug !
Regards.

If you mean that, even when you are sure nothing has been selected, replying to a message will not quote everything, then I can't confirm.

Yes I do confirm this bug that has been on for a while but not all the time !!
Comment 3 Daniel Moyne 2006-02-28 14:31:16 UTC
this bug still shows up ; to cure it just a click inside the window message to generate an answer will cure it !

I sometimes have this bug with KDE3.5.4 in Debian Sid. I am sure that I have not selected text in the original message that I am replying to. It only happens once in a while. Today I got an email which produced this behaviour, so I tried to save it as a text file and re-open it with File->Open. Pressing reply on the resulting email worked fine. Later today the same email does not produce the bug, however...

Best regards

This bug is still there when answering a message with latest KMail version.

If anyone can reproduce it with a current KDE version (4.3 ..), please reopen.
I can not reproduce it here.
