Description Michael Stather 2005-09-07 17:49:37 UTC
Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 10.0)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-3-default

If I press the "delete" key to delete a mail, the focus is moved away from the list of mails but to the mail preview widget. I assume this is a bug because it makes deleting multiple mails very hard to use.

The Delete key should work independent from the focus. If not, then it's a problem of your settings or of the environment.
Anyway, this works fine on Suse 9.3 (KDE 3.4.2 as well as KDE 3.5 pre-beta).

I think I haven´t described my problem very well.
Yes, delete does work even if the focus is moved. But I sometimes leave some mails which I need on the bottom of the mail list and if I press delete, the mail is deleted and the mail list moves to the next one, which I want to keep. And pressing up doesn´t work because the focus is on the preview widget. I think many people do this and I see no reason why the delete command should move the focus.

As for version 1.11.4 this is not resolved completely. When you delete a who thread by <CTRL>+<DEL> the mail list still loses focus. Rather disrupting for the workflow.
