Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages (this is just a low priority whish/suggestion) Usually I have many open tasks (windows) on one screen, and I prefer to switch between them by Alt-Tab. When stepping through the available tasks with Alt-Tab, it would be great if the window of the currently selected task would be highlighted (eg. as another "active" window). That's no eyecandy feature, but an usability improvement: especially on large monitors, I look at the window I want to bring to the front and press Alt-Tab. Currently I have to look and the taskselect-box to find out which task is the currently selected (which is hardly recogniceable at one glance if you have 4 konsole running for example). But the users intention is to bring a distinct window to the front. So highlighting the selected window suits this intention much more than the taskselection box. I hope some of you like that idea and it will be implemented one day? thx Oliver
I don't understand what you mean. The active window is highlighted in the Alt+Tab dialog by having inverted background.
I think he means that the window decoration of the window associated with the currently selected entry should change its color as well. So that if you have several otherwise equal windows open, switching through the ALT-TAB list also "highlights" the respective window itself. Maybe like when a window is requesting attention, just no blinking.
Thanks to Kevin for the explanation. Yes, that's what I tried to describe, not well enough obviously. I really like the task dialog (highlighting there works of course), but highlighting the window decoration itself would be quite helpful nevertheless. Especially on large screens with many windows it would be more intuitive.
