Description greatbunzinni 2005-09-01 12:52:56 UTC
Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)

In the email composition dialog there is a button labelled "select". That dialog lists the emails which are present in the user's address book and supposedly enables the user to select the email addresses to put in the To/CC/BCC fields. Unfortunately that doesn't work. The user may select any email address from that dialog, click on any insertion button but no email address is inserted in any field.

That works completely fine for me in KDE 3.4.2 on Suse 9.3. Can you tell us
more about the system you're using?

I'm running Kubuntu 5.04 with KDE 3.4.2 which was installed through KDE's kubuntu repository.

Same problem here, using KDE 3.4.2 on Slackware 10.2. It only works when KAdressBook runs or has run after KMail has been started.

Cannot confirm in KDE 3.5.6.

Cannot confirm in KDE 3.5.10 and 4.3 too. I think we can safely close this bug.

I've just tested on kmail 1.11.4 and it does work.

Well, the bug report is nearly 4 years old. I have to wonder how effective are these bug reports if it appears that the developers don't even care about them to simply browse the bug list once every 4 years.
