Description René Fischer 2005-08-30 23:15:35 UTC
Version: 0.9.2 (using KDE 3.4.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.2-0ubuntu0hoary2 )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-5-386

If you create a follow-up (fup) onto a article containing a subject change, KNode should cut off the old subject automaticly. Many newsreaders (Gnus, Thunderbird, XPN, Dialog, ..) did work this way.

Example:
Subject(change) before fup:
"New subject (was: Old Subject)"

Subject created by KNode automaticly, after creating a fup:
"New subject"

At the same moment, it would be nice if Bug 48368 (http://bugs.kde.org/votes.cgi?action=show_bug&bug_id=48368) could be realized.

TIA!

Confirmed for KNode/0.9.3 (using KDE 3.4.3, Debian package knode_4:3.4.3-1_i386)
on Linux 2.6.14-* PREEMPT i686.

and

KNode for KDE 3.5.0 (courtesy of Alexander Skwar, MID: <70934722.NQWTuxpd63@work.message-center.info>).

Before I found this bug, I considered it a regression from 0.9.2. Maybe I confused it with Thunderbird :)

The bug is still there in KNode/0.10.1 (KDE 3.5.0, Debian package knode_4:3.5.0-4) on Linux 2.6.14-* PREEMPT i686. Why has this not been fixed long since?

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
